Description

Daxas (Roflumilast) is classified as a phosphodieterase 4 inhibitor and it works by decreasing inflammation inside the lungs. Indications include COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and asthma. Some patients have also been treated with it for chronic bronchitis. When administered, this medicine blocks the action of the enzyme known as phosphodiesterase 4, and prevents it from causing inflammation. This in turn lowers the production of mucus and helps prevent the airways from becoming narrow, which leads to an improvement in breathing.

Dosage and AdministrationDaxas (Roflumilast) comes as 500mcg strength film coated tablets. Your physician will determine the appropriate dosage. Patients are usually told by their physician to administer a single tablet each day, either with food or without it. You should not exceed the dosage recommended to you, as this could be hazardous to your health.
