Description

SoviHep (Sofosbuvir) is approved drugs for patient used it on HCV genotype 1, 2, 3 and 4 combine with other HCV medications. Sofosbuvir is also suitable for HCV/HIV co-infection or patient has liver cancer who waiting for liver transplant.

Dosage and AdministrationA combination of oral medications (antiviral drugs) and injections are used to fight the viruses. SoviHep (Sofosbuvir) 400mg can be taken 1 tablet per day, with or without meal. SoviHep (Sofosbuvir) is taken with other medication depending on HCV genotype.

The treatment for HCV patients recommended dosing method as follows:

  • HCV genotype 1 or 4 takes SoviHep (Sofosbuvir) with Ribavirin and Pegylated interferon for 12 weeks.
  • HCV genotype 2 takes SoviHep (Sofosbuvir) with Ribavirin for 12 weeks (without interferon).
  • HCV genotype 3 takes SoviHep (sofosbuvir with Ribavirin for 24 weeks (without interferon).

(Interferon is injected under the skin, and ribavirin is taken by mouth.)

Side effectsHere is the common side effects of taking SoviHep (Sofosbuvir) as below:

  • Headache
  • Tiredness
  • Nausea
  • Depress
  • Dizziness

Some side effect can be serious. If you have unusual experience and problems, you should contact your doctors or healthcare right immediately.

PrecautionsThe combination of SoviHep (Sofosbuvir), Ribavirin and Pegylated interferon can cause serious birth defects. Do not take this medicine if you or your partner is pregnant. You may need to have a negative pregnancy test before using these medications together, and every month during your treatment. Also if you decide to get pregnant, you and your partner will be suggest 6 months after stop taking SoviHep.

SoviHep (Sofosbuvir) can interact with other drugs or supplement, before you taking this medicine, should seek professional advice from your doctor.

At this time, it is not known if SoviHep (Sofosbuvir) passes through breast milk in humans. Therefore, you should speak with your doctor for more information about this.

You should tell your doctor if you have had a liver transplant, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), kidney disease, or any type of liver disease other than hepatitis C.

Do not change dosage or stop taking before talking with your doctor or healthcare provider.
